2024 Theme Verse:
"He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias."
John 1:23
How much do you know about John the Baptist? From what we read about John in the Bible, we know that he lived a simple life. He camped in the desert, he wore simple clothes, and his food choices were nothing fancy. Because of this way of life, John was able to focus on some pretty big things- preparing the way for Jesus! This summer we'll be learning about why God chose John as His messenger, and why his message was so important. As the "forerunner" of Jesus, John needed the people around him to understand that their long-awaited Messiah had come! Jesus, the "Lamb of God", was ready to forgive their sin, and change their lives forever.
As you prepare for summer camp, do some reading about John the Baptist in passages like John 1 and Matthew 3. Make sure you're ready for an awesome summer of new activities, and a few surprises; but most importantly, that you're ready to listen to instruction from God's Word!
